Popcorn ELT Readers by Mary Glasgow Scholastic is a series of readers for children who are just beginning to learn English. The series is divided into four language proficiency levels. Each title is an adaptation of popular children’s films and TV shows.

Language proficiency levels in the series:

• Starter Level: 150 key words (up to 200 words in the entire text); key grammar structures – present simple, present continuous, can for ability.

• Level 1 (Early Beginner): 200 key words (up to 500 words in the entire text); key grammar structures – present simple, present continuous, can for ability, simple adverbs of frequency.

• Level 2 (Mid-Beginner): 250 key words (up to 800 words in the entire text); key grammar structures – past simple, common irregular pasts, going to future, would like + infinitive.

• Level 3 (High Beginner): 300 key words (up to 1,100 words in the entire text); key grammar structures – past simple, common irregular pasts, going to future, must, have to, regular comparatives and superlatives, simple infinitive of purpose.

Each title includes:

• text and illustrations on every page

• an illustrated glossary

• five pages of activities

Each title also comes with:

• an Audio CD featuring a recording of the story and new vocabulary
